I’m lucky to live very close to where an excellent specimen of the rare Ghost Orchid grows. I absolutely love the shape of that orchid, but have I ever taken the time to visit the park when it is bloom? No, I have not! Why? Because I am too busy…I am always too busy to just take a Saturday off and go in search of this very rare thing that I love.
Instead, I pretend that this orchid in my yard is a close relative and I try to convince myself that is good enough. Mostly, it is good enough, but every now and then I wish I could un-busy myself and take the time to find the real thing.
